Medicaid Waivers
Medicaid Waivers, sometimes referred to as Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), allow Medicaid to fund supports and services for children and adults with disabilities in their family homes or community-based programs instead of institutional settings.
Through these waivers, individuals can access traditional Medicaid services plus additional services specifically available through Indiana’s Medicaid Waiver program. This makes it possible for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live, work, and thrive in their communities with the right support.
